It’s great that styles, one of the most powerful features in Word and Office, are so easy to work with. Styling your document is as intuitive as 1-2-3.

Follow these steps to apply a style:

1. Select some text to apply a style to.

2. Click the Toolbox button on the Standard toolbar to display the Toolbox if it isn’t already being displayed.

3. In the Toolbox, click the List button to reveal All Styles if they aren’t visible already, or choose a style filter.

4. In the Pick a Style to Apply list, choose a style that you want to apply to the selected text.

After you’ve applied some styles, click into the text of various portions of your document. Notice that the Styles palette tells you which particular style has been applied to that selection.
